Audio files on a CD/DVD-ROM in the CD/DVD drive, on the USB mass storage device or on a memory card can be imported.
Press the function selector button marked MEDIA.
Press the control button for Import.
Turn the rotary pushbutton to select a source (e.g. SD/MMC, CD/DVD or USB) and press the rotary pushbutton. After the selected source has been checked, the MMI display will show a structure of folders.
Turn the rotary pushbutton to Select all files/folders or select individual files that you would like to import and press the rotary pushbutton.
To start the import, turn the rotary pushbutton to Start import in the highest directory level and press the rotary pushbutton. The import progress will be indicated on the MMI display.
You can select all files in a folder for import by turning the rotary pushbutton to a folder and pressing and holding the rotary pushbutton.
During the import, the jukebox automatically uses stored meta data (e.g. ID3 tags) to sort the music files into the folders Artists, Albums, Tracks and Genre.
If there are no files in the jukebox, the MMI display will show a message with the option Import new tracks. Press the rotary pushbutton to open the Import menu directly.
You can stop the import at any time by turning the rotary pushbutton to Cancel and pressing it. The import will also be cancelled if the MMI system is switched off or the source is removed (e.g. SD/MMC, CD/DVD or USB) during an import. Tracks that have already been imported will remain stored.
Note
  • Only import audio files while the engine is running.
  • For legal reasons there is no export function for the jukebox.
  • If you try to play and import audio files in the CD/DVD drive at the same time, this can lead to restrictions during playback or the import process. We recommend completing any import process before playing audio files in the CD/DVD drive.
  • Files already stored to the jukebox are automatically overwritten during the import.
  • Data or tracks that do not include stored meta data are listed as unknown. We recommend importing the audio files with the corresponding meta data (e.g. ID3 tags).
